Why shoot the messenger? That's the look that gets you on the podium in beauty pageants. That's the look you want in your model portfolio if you're trying to get on the short list by submitting an 8x10 to a casting agent.
So why blame the photographer for spotting a business opportunity? It's no more ridiculous, in its way, than wedding photography; I don't see too many women in day-to-day life in off-the-shoulder white dresses complete with veils and trains.
