video card runs on a separate bus. could be many problems starting with memory, overheating, inadequate power supply. wouldn't hurt to replace the video card, but i tend to doubt it.

Subject: Question for computer geeks

I just upgraded my CPU from an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ to the XP 3200+ and
immediately had problems with intermittent (and increasingly recurring)
screen blackouts. I have solved the problem by slowing my FSB frequency
(the automatic setup in BIOS wanted 200Mhz and I manually overrode it to
run at 166Mhz).

I'm suspecting my video card may be the troublemaker. Any thoughts on
this?
