My input on photographic magazines: In used to subscribe to Amateur Photographer (UK) until about 18 months ago. Dropped it because the news pages were always 4 weeks out of date. The internet is much quicker, specifically DPR. The rest of it was basically tosh, and since the advent of eBay, the small adds continually die a death, so bye-bye AP.
Last year, I sent Outdoor Photographer 2 dozen 11X8 prints, several thousand words of print, and corresponding hi-res files and text on CD- ROM about a British perspective on the nature Photography Weekend at Grandfather Mountain, and didn't receive so much as an email back as acknowledgement. Not even the worst UK press ignores contributors completely, so (and I don't usually profane on this or any list) fuck 'em. I wouldn't wipe my ass with a copy of OP.
