I'm not sure why my bench comment should be "very distressing", or indeed, distressing at all. I went back and looked again, and indeed, the bench is level. It looked slightly tilted to me (and still does, btw), and it must be the way it sits in relation to the other objects in the frame. I think the fact that I think it looks tilted says much more about the way I see (and, I suppose, photograph) the world than it says about your photo.
