In the Google results window, find the 'Preferences' link, to the right
of the "search' button.

In Google preferences, scroll down and find the last preference:

'Results Window  -   []   Open search results in a new browser window. '


When checked, it allows individual results to be opened in a new window.
This way I can open many new windows or follow all manner of links, and
still have the original Google search results page open at the bottom so
I don't lose it.
