I don't know prices of the sensor component, but they are expensive. Several hundred dollars at the OEM pricing level. Translate times 7-10 for retail after manufacture.

Much of the price has to do with what percentage of them are junked as not meeting spec in manufacture... the "yield" on such components is frighteningly low, less than 10% of the production is able to be sold.
