I've never had a waterproof camera before, so I think it would be nice to have that. I was recently caught in a rain storm at a city festival while watching a band and I had to put my istD away. Nate reminded me that the WP wouldn't be fast enough in those conditions, but it would still be fun to try, I think. Anyway, I finally ordered it, since I've been thinking about it for a month or two. I will hate giving up metering control, but I really want this camera for shooting on the fly, and it seems very good at that. (Powers up fast, small and light, etc.) There were some honest reviews from hobbyist photogs on Amazon, which helped seal the deal. I was on the fence because there will be a camera on the smartphone I'm getting soon, but the samples I've seen from that are...ahem...less than satisfactory even for snapshots. I will post impressions and samples when I've had some experience with it. Amita
