since the 100mm lens is effectively the same AOV of a 150mm lens on full frame 35mm format, these photos clearly disprove that only a 85mm lens is good for portraits ( on full frame) which would be the same as using a 55mm on the istD which you didn't (100mm!). This is why I like the 105 and 120mm lenses for portrait lenses on full frame as well as 85mm. You did fine with 150mm equiv so 105 and 120 are certainly NOT too long for portraits on FF as many would like to suggest....
I will use the 50mm lens on the istD for portraits small groups if I have the space, but I prefer the 77mm for individual or couples, or groups if I have the space. I did a family shoot of 35 or so people the other day with the 77mm lens. I was probably 50 feet back from them. It was great, my assistant had to interact with them, and I barely needed to acknowledge their existence.
