It's terrible how that situation is in the USA. Here I hesitate before taking a picture of a kid, and I wouldn't even think of going to a playground to take pictures. In Spain, these last two months, it was the complete opposite: I had no problems at all taking pictures of kids in the street. Often, after a few frames I would make eye contact with the parents, smile, and either move on, show them the pictures, or otherwise start a conversation.
