Its very quiet all over, but particularly the mirror. Don't know how it compares to
the Nikon F80 but its several magnitudes quieter than the LX and the Z-1p. It sounds
like a Pentax zoom P&S compact camera.
Rewind is also quiet. The Z-1p noise, and particularly the rewind noise, scares away
the wildlife while they are oblivious to the MZ-S.
