Hi Shel, I use Sandisk Ultra II 512MB cards w/ the Ds. I cannot say what advantages the Ultra II speed has for me, however as I don't notice a speed difference btwn the Ultra II and a non-Ultra II 1GB Sandisk SD card. I have no experience w/ Lexar cards.
