In another couple of years (which is the earliest I would expect Pentax to release such a camera) the price may well have come down to $2500 Even then I think this is a questionable price point for Pentax. Furthermore, I think they need other features (such as USM, VR, and a better set of AF algorithms) to stand any hope of selling to the over- $1000 segment of the marketplace, let alone the over-$2000 niche.
