It's a great lens, until the composite,(glass&plastic) aspheric element 
in the rear of the lens seperates.  Then it's horrible.  There are no 
spare parts available and the seperation is a matter of time, mine did 
while sitting on a shelf for three months.  I've seen a few on sale on 
e-Bay described as Mint but needing cleaning...   No amount of cleaning 
will help.
