No trick. Just line it up properly and it should fit in easily.

I've never tried a non-Pentax adapter, but the Pentax ones aren't that
expensive. Despite the fact that someone's always trying to get $24.99 US
for them on eBay, they sell locally for $25 CAN, which is just over $16
US. Very reasonable, considering what it allows you to do.
