Sounds like a recipe for regurgitation. 8-) I sometimes watch the RAf practicing low flying in the countrysdide around here. 400' would be considered as getting some height for a look around 8-)

Ever seen the film of the RNAS making a mock attack on a bunker in Arizona/Nevada?

Can't say that I have...

It was a joint exercise between the Royal Navy Air Service and some early warning defence organisation. The EWDO knew the timing of the raid and was going to practice its radar tracking of incoming. The location was somewhere in the SW desert area of the US, I don't remember precisely.

The time of the raid comes and goes and there's no sign of the
attackers. They would have been flying Buccaneers, fixed wing jets used mainly from carriers towards the end of their service life. Contact is made and the EWDO discovers that the raid has taken place and it is officially "taken out".

Finding out that the MO was to fly in at zero feet, an arrangement is made to have a repeat exercise, this time filmed, the following day. This is what I've seen video of.

Again, there is no sign of the Buccaneers on radar. The first the EWDO knows about it is when one of the video operators shouts "Look at this!" There is a Buccaneer flying _between_ the dunes and heading for them, followed by the rest. Everyone vacates the control room to go "up top" and watch the planes coming in. Command block gets taken out once more...

I'll see if I can find a URL for you.
