It's a very touchy lens, sometimes the results are very good
and other times I've triple checked to be sure I _really_
had an SMCP lens mounted, the results were that bad!
It seems to hate backlit and high contrast when wide
open or near wide open.
As I wrote to Mark, I've had the goofy thing apart 3 times
and see absolutely nothing wrong inside.
Clean, clear and solid. Zero oil film.
I think you may be right about digital being the difference.
I'll go shoot some film with it and see how it compares,
it's been quite a while since I've used it that way.
