Just got my first batch of films made with the MZ-S back. They were all shot on EBX
pushed one stop. The 15 rolls of Velvia I've shot with is isn't ready yet.

The first thing that strucked me was that all films made with the MZ-S looked more
saturated and contrasty than those made with the Z-1p (same batch of film; same
laboratory; processes on the same day). This is certainly due to the fact that there
seems to be half a stop of difference in exposure between my MZ-S and my Z-1p. In
fact, with my Z-1p EBX don't look saturated at all. I would prefer an exposure
somwhere between the two.
I would definitely expose Velvia at ISO 40 with the MZ-S hereafter (although I haven't
seen the results with Velvia yet).

Bad news: The MZ-S do not imprint actual shutter speed in "B" setting; just "M" in the
exposure mode field and "Bu" in the shutter speed field. This is a major bug.

Also I experienced overlapping frames on one of the rolls.

The multipattern metering seems to work just as well on the MZ-S as on other Pentaxes.

My Pentax repair man told me he wanted my MZ-S back for a software upgrade. I'm a bit
reluctant cause I'm quite attached to mine; particularly since I'm in the middle of
the shooting season. Apparently, its nothing major: On some bodies there might occure
an error message in the viewfinder if the self-timer is used while the camera is set
at consecutive-frame drive (or something along those lines; he was a bit vague). I
wonder if theres more bugs at play...
