I live in Lafayette and we were fine (about 70 miles closer) Baton Rouge is
okay. I was in Morgan City and Houma where tree damage and power outages
are an inconvenience. East of Houma (about 60 miles from NO) to Mobile
seems to be a tragic mess.
Thousands will be found dead in New Orleans. This mess has gone from bad to
tragic to catastrophic to horrific. I have friends and family all over the
area. I hope they left. I have not heard from them.
New Orleans has been a big part of my life. New Orleans will never be the
same and will take years to recover.
