HJi, After you mentioned Vuescan earlier, I checked their site, DL'd today's release, and gave it a spin. It causes my computer to shut down and reboot. Couldn't even get through setting up the scan parameters. I usually try Vuescan two or three times a year.
Using WIN XP Home, 2GB Ram, Intel PERL-something MoBo, 2.8GHz Intel CPU, 2-200GB Seagate SATA HDDs. When I run scanning and Photoshop programs I eliminate any non-essential programs and processes that run in the background, and Windows is set up to run with no bells and whistles - as spare as I can determine it to be.
