Sending cameras and lens via USPS Priority Mail - a small box, is great and cheap. Three day delivery is what they advertise and they usually beat that. Regards, Bob S. ======== Ditto. I like sending by priority mail, and so far, haven't had a problem with it.
Of course, this only works within the boundaries of the US. But I've had no problem sending parcels to other countries either (air mail parcel post). It seems to arrive okay and fairly quickly. If I was really worried about a package I would use delivery confirmation. But truthfully, I've rarely needed to do that. I've sold a lot on ebay and sold some lenses on this list, and also sell some books periodically. I've never had a problem with USPS. OTOH, my local PO seems to be pretty d___m good. Better than most, maybe. If I mail from them people seem to get things very, very quickly. I suspect the mail goes directly from them to the major PO in this area (Oakland?) and then directly to a plane. In fact, people tell me they get their packages quicker than they expected. So which PO one uses may matter. Or not. Marnie I feel like giving them a box of chocolate at Xmas. They make me look good.
