NO !!! To do the firmware upgrade requires that the camera "talk" back and forth with the SD card (which will have the upgrade binary on it) ~perfectly~. It's possible that trying this, due to some sort of an aborted upgrade attempt that could result, could leave you with a camera that's inoperative. Fred
