Godfrey, It's difficult to verbally identify an individual's visual anomaly. My sole attempt is to describe it is an appearance of edge "crumbling" or "glitter". Your "brittleness" adjective is well taken with respect to this image. I think I implied my reluctance to have gone quite so far as was done, but, as stated, am fine with it.
