Well, not really, still have a Canon DSLR and expect it will stay that way.

But I am now the proud owner of a Pentax optio s4i (ebay). It is one of the slim ones, so it will fit in my purse. Hasn't arrived yet. If anyone is interested I will tell you what I think later. But probably not, as it is an older optio.

Maybe I can submit a picture to the PUG now and then, again.

And people can stop sneering at me for not having a Pentax. (Oh, it was very quiet sneering, but I knew it was there.)

No problem. I have 50 lbs of Pentaxii, and don't apologize for having another brand camera.

If Pentax had come out with their DSLR a little sooner, I would not have bought an Olympus Camedia C-8080 5X Zoom. But they didn't, and I did...

It'll be fun to have a camera in my purse.

That's precisely (well not PRECISELY) why I got one. I wanted one I didn't have to unlimber... My Optio S4 fit the bill perfectly.
Now, the S5i fits the bill too, but it's in my wife's purse! <g>
We're a Pentax S[whatever] family...

Even if the image quality isn't great, or at least not up to a DSLR.

Hey, the quality IS up to most cameras.
Using my S4, I took a couple of hundred images of my front yard re-landscaping, and for the most part they all came out quite well. Certainly good enough for an album. And, some were blown up to 5X7 and are excellent. When folks want to know what took those fine photos, I merely haul out the S4! Talk about amazed faces!

You'll have a great deal of fun with the S4i, enjoy it!
