Some time ago I was asking about people's opinion and experience
with different PSD's (portable storage devices) aka photobanks aka ...

I just thought I'd report back on my experience with Wolverine FlashPac 7000.
It is available from a few different places.
I believe, B&H sells a 60 GB version for $230, and 100 GB version for $310.
Fry's Electronics sells 40 GB ($190 ) and 60 GB ($240) versions.
I believe you can buy it directly from WOlverine web-site:
http://secure.serverlab.net/shop/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=T00107&Category_Code=FlashPac
http://tinyurl.com/7g6pz
It is not as small as EZDigiMagic, but one on the smaller side of
the similar devices decribed here:
http://www.photozone.de/2Equipment/portableHD.htm

It measures 116x78x23 mm (4.6 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches), weights 230 grams (8 Oz),
supports fat32.

My concern was how many transfers it can take.
So, I can report that it allowed me to transfer 11.5 times from
an almost full 1GB ULtra II SanDisk SD card (96 files, 953 MB)
It died on the 12th transfer after trasnferring 52 files (523 MB).
So, the total size of files trnasferred on a single charge: 10.7 GB
This was done over two series of transfers within one day:
mid-day and than in the evening.

So, I think it would be fair to expect some 10 transfers on a single
charge.

Controls are extremely simple: power buton and "transfer" button.
The LCD shows what type of card inserted, a 3-bar battery charge
indicator, the number of files transferred in the current
transfer, the percentage of the current file that has been
transferred, and the current directory name.
That's about it. No image or even directory content viewing.
Each time it transfers files to a new directory (SD0001, SD0002, .. CF0001,..)
which name depends on the type of the card (SD, CF, ..)
It was consistently taking 8'20" to transfer 953 MB in 96 .PEF files,
(DS was indicating that the card can fit 1 more file).
This makes the transfer speed being ~1.9 MB/s.

The Li-ion battery is inside and can be replaced/removed
(a new one with a wall charger can be purchased for $29),
but you need to unscrew 4 little Phillips screws to remove the front cover.

I hope this description will be helpful to somebody.
