I have a 1Gig ProMaster card, and I have no idea what speed it is. I don't
shoot in continuous frame advance mode, so I don't notice any slowness
anyway. I haven't bought a dedicated card reader yet, so I can't vouch for
how long it takes to dump a full card into my computer that way.
I can definitely say that if I am shooting JPEG, I can fire several frames
in a rapid "burst" before the camera slows down. Personally, that's enough
speed for me. I don't need to shoot continuously at high speed. If I did, I
would switch to a video or movie camera. ;)
I'm currently sticking my card into a slot on a printer connected to my
local LAN through another computer. Yes, that's right. I load my SD card
into a printer in one room, and access it from a computer in another room.
It works, but it takes a few extra minutes. (I do plan to get a proper card
reader for my computer eventually.)
If anyone knows about the speed of the ProMaster 1Gig card, I would be
interested to know.
take care,
Glen
