I agree with Frank. It seems more logical to me, too. There are occasions on which I want my comment to be read before the matter I'm commenting on, at which times I top-post. Other times, there's a lot of stuff I want to make various comments about, so then I put the comments in-line. To me, posting the way one wants the whole package to be read is the natural way to do this. (I didn't know that computers EXISTED in 1972. I mean, in 1972, I didn't know that computers existed.)
