Now, a question: How many use PSE "to its fullest" (or, basically, do all
of their editing in it)?
I'm used to using Paint Shop Pro for image editing, and it'd be difficult
to be weaned from it to transition over to PSE. (And, I'm assuming that
PSP does some things that PSE doesn't, just as Photoshop does some things
that PSP doesn't, etc.)

You could always use PSE (or something like RAWShooter Essentials) for
your conversions and use PSP for the rest of your editing needs. It's a
similar workflow to how I handle my film scanning (I use the standalone
app for scanning, in batches, and manage/Edit is PSCS2)
