Hi Don,
Actually, not exactly...
I have the older version and it is a pleasant surprise. A very
good lens for the money, although a bit prone to flare, typical
for a Sigma lens of not many years ago. The late version (the
one reviewed on photographyreview) was tested by a magazine I
trust and the MTF results were really good (I could say
impressive...), although the plastic mount and the distorsion
resulted in a not excellent verdict.
I used mine only on film, but if you wish I may compare it, on
digital, to, say, the Tamron 28-75 - unfair... - and to the M
35-70/2.8-3.5.
