Hi All
I am a newbie to the Pentax User Group so I'll
introduce myself first.
Started out plus or minus twenty years ago
with Ricoh KR5, great
cheap ( inexpensive? )camera that it was, I swiftly
wore out the shutter.
Next came my beloved and since stolen Pentax MG.
This was replaced
with an ME Super which I used for a number of
years. Then I was tempted
by a MZ50, wow autofocus!! Then I found an
absolutely mint Spotmatic SPII
Two weeks ago I found a second hand LX and am
feeling like James Brown!!
I picked up an LX body, 50 f1.7, 24 f2.8 and a 80 -
200 f4.5 SMC Pentax
lenses, an AF280T flask with flash bracket and both
the standard FA-1
viewfinder and a FB-1 / FC-1 finder. All of this
for R2500.00. That is South
African Rands!! Divide this by eight to equate to $
US. Anyone green yet?!?
To get to the crux of the matter, The handbook,(
yes, I got one of those as well!)
says that the MD/exposure check botton, in the
center of the viewfinder release
lever, should activate the light meter. Well, mine
does not. Is this specific to
certain bodies, as I have heard, or should all LX's
work in this way or does this
only work with a winder or motor drive attached
which I have still to locate?
Many Thanks in advance to the learned members of
this forum.
