LOL ... I'd love to take credit for it, but Pentax coined the term in their naming of the custom setting. It's really quite ingenious and better than an Auto ISO setting in my opinion:

Set the function on with the high limit of the range at either 1600 or 3200. Now the ISO you set with the Fn control is the low sensitivity point and the camera will boost ISO to the limit in those cases where its programming would otherwise make the exposure too long (Av mode), or the lens has gone to its maximum opening (Tv mode), or both (Program modes).

The only thing I wish they'd done was enabled the ISO warning to operate in conjunction with the Coercion. Unfortunately, they took the direction of figuring that the ISO warning was a reminder for when you've set the ISO high manually. When you set Coercion in play, I guess they figured you were specifically telling the camera to be in control and weren't interested in a warning.
