 Thanks for the tip.  The Horizon 10x you mention may be the same one I 
bought yesterday.  The bit of glass at the bottom with the lines on it is 
impossible to keep clean... I may end up removing it (it's easily unscrewed).

 Also the multicoating could be better.  I've noticed internal reflections when I 
get the lightbox shining through the sprocket holes.  But since this loupe is only 
used for checking sharpness I'm not too worried.  It's quite a nice loupe and 
was definitely the best that the shop had on offer (I would have liked a Pentax 
zoom loupe...).
