Radio Frequency (Interference?). Basically, strong electromagnetic
fields is what he's referring to.
Also, RFI should never actually "break" a camera -- unless you are talking
about EMP phenomenon, in which case you have bigger worries than that of
your camera.
EMP = Electromagnetic Pulse - A highly destructive electrical "shock
wave" sent out by events such as a nuclear blast, and I believe also by a
nearby lightning strike.
