I though Hyper manual gave you a one time auto-reading, (in the *ist-d changing both Shutter and aperture according to the program line), whereas Av, (Aperture preferred automation), continuously updates the shutter speed based on the current aperture, lighting conditions, and correction factor. They are two similar, (in that the camera chooses the exposure), but different things.

Whatever, it still takes you from manual exposure control to automatic exposure control.
