Secondly since hardly any he PK lenses from any
series even F/FA were designed for digital, why are you saying
the later ones are better? I bet plenty of
the K/M lenses are better than plenty of the
later ones, so wouldn't it be better to be
using whats best not whats newest? and with full
AE support in the case of the K/M that are really good
on digital?? Yes it would.
Lens design moves on, some aberations that exist on some older lenses no
longer exist on newer ones.
The lens doesn't have to be designed for digital, it just needs to have very
low aberations, especially chromatic.
It's why this can not be the black or white issue you are trying to pidgeon
hole it into.
Some K/M lenses image well on the digital, some don't.
Some A lenses image very well, some fair more poorly.
K/M lenses loose convenience, no AF, no Programmed AE, no Shutter Preferred
AE, discontinuous light metering.
None of these limitations on their own is a big deal, but added together is
something to consider when choosing a lens kit, providing the lens works
with the sensor in the first place, which some do, some just don't.
You want this to be an either/or thing.
That way, you get to win a debate.
It's not an either/or thing, never will be.
If you want to win a debate, find a black or white issue to argue over.
This isn't one you can win, no matter how much you bleat.
But if it means that much to you, I'll let you have the last word on the
subject, and you can pretend you did something grand.
One of us has to be the grown up here, I am probably better prepared for it.
