It's still annoying and it still hoovers.  With all the features,
functions, modes, buttons, and dials on these wunderkameras, you'd think it
would be a simple matter to completely turn off the damned flashing arrow.
Likewise the green focus indicator.  But noooo!  In this case the camera
knows what's best for the photographer.  Feh!  Having these things in the

It's a conspiracy to alienate whatever customer base they haven't already alienated by making K/M lenses as difficult to use as humanly possible.

Seriously, most people are using that stuff, or just accept that it is there. You want rid of it, you would also need to have more menu lines to wade through during initial setup, with the neccessary increase in street price of the camera to pay for the inclusion of the extra programming needed to allow it to happen. Just a wild guess, I doubt if enough people find it bothersome for them to do what you want. Just a wilder guess, it never occurred to them that anyone would find it annoying.
