I cry buckets whenever I see that. It was a cruel thing to do, but not as cruel as actually releasing it I suppose. The sensor was junk. So sad, as it's the reason I didn't wait, and bought a D60 instead. But I'm happier now. Like my first ever girlfriend, bittersweet memories!
