Yes pretty normal for default settings in a 1:1 crop, it's easy enough to eliminate noise completely though using PS CS or an aftermarket NR program. I'd get some big prints done from what deem as noisy shots first then make your assessments. Consider that your screen will resolve at best 100dpi so making 1:1 examinations is like putting your nose to something like a 50cm high print, not something that most people do too regularly.
