I agree. That´s what happened to my Bronica equipment. A PS180mm
4.5 (which is a wonderful lens) dropped to 50% of it´s previous prize
on KEH after it was announced that Tamron was dropping all the MF slr
´s, and they even promised to keep on servicing them for 10 years. I
expect the same thing to happen with my Pentax lenses. Maybe I
should sell my A*135 1.8?

Herb,
Once again, you demonstrate your total ignorance of how the world
works.
If Pentax goes out of business, Pentax users will, over a few short
years, migrate to other brands, and there will be no demand for
Pentax lenses. Meanwhile, they certainly won't invest in more
Pentax lenses, new or used. If you think otherwise, you're nuttier
than a fruitcake.
Some people think collectors will keep the market going. I have to
tell you that there isn't a hope of that happening. There are far
more lenses available than the small number of collectors will ever
require.
I suspect Pentax lens prices have now pretty much peaked, and will
start to come down as Pentax ramps up production of new digi
lenses. If you really believe you're sitting on a gold-mine, then
you're living in cloud-cuckoo land. But why don't you put your
money where your mouth is: hang onto them as an investment, and buy
Canon to use?
It's now clear what your nasty little plan is. You want to drive
Pentax out of business because you are crazy enough to think that
that will raise the value of your kit. Fortunately, words fail me
at this point.

they won't be worth very little especially if Pentax goes
completely out of business, they would be worth a lot more. i
could sell them all to this mailing list. in fact, some of them
will wait until they are 30 years old before being sufficiently
aged. it will, however, take a couple of years before they are
worth what i deem worthwhile selling because the vast majority
were bought new.....
More endlessly repeated prognostications snipped...
