In general MF lenses are easier to focus. I was shocked to note that the
Focus Ring on my 18-55 DA was actually pretty nice, something I can't
say for any other AF lens I've owned (Of the AF lenses I've owned, only
the 70-210 f4-5.6 AF Nikkor was even acceptable for focus ring feel).
Combine the good feel with the full-time manual focus capability, and
I'm surprisingly happy with the cheapo kit lens (Better and faster
optics are all it needs)
