The 5n and the 3 are almost exactly same camera, except that:
*The 3's top shutter is 1/4000 and 1/125 sync, compared to the 5n's 1/2000
and 1/100 sync
*The 3 comes with the Date back, it's optional on the 5n
*The 3 is available in black (Pentax just announced a black MZ-5n, but I
doubt you can buy one yet)
So it depends on how much you want that increased shutter speed, and
whether or not you want the date back. If you do want the date back, the
MZ-5n + optional date back is probably pretty close to the price of the
MZ-3. They are both high quality cameras.
