A tape measure race really isn't very exotic. The tape measure ends are
hooked on the end of the track and then the tape measures are pulled out to
their limit. They're then let go to see which one retracts (and therefore
reaches the end of the track) first. I think the entertainment value is
directly proportional to the amount of alcoholic beverages consumed prior to
the race.

Oh, drat. I was envisioning springing it open. Some tape measure will do it
to some degree, and I was thinking an experienced tape measurer person could
make it really, really spring open and go some distance. Maybe with a little
shaking and stuff.

Drat, drat. I suppose if one is bored, especially in the snowy boonies during
the winter, anything is entertaining.

Marnie You'll notice I am loftily ignoring your nasty crack. ;-)
