Yup, it's a very nice lens.  I bought mine damaged (there was a loose
screw bouncing around inside it, and dust on internal elements) at a
very nice price.  It was cheap even after an overhaul at Pentax, from
which it returned looking absolutely mint.  I don't know what they did
to the outside of it, but it's gorgeous!  :-)

However, you say "tripod required".  I'd love to use mine on a tripod,
but because of the weight of the lens, and the lack of a dedicated
tripod mount on it, I haven't dared risk damaging my SP-F.  Is there a
trick, like a tripod mount I can purchase and retro-fit?  Or am I just
worrying needlessly?
