Although the idea is very nice, I'm a bit sceptical against this! Don't
viewfinders have typically different enlargement ranges? Will this
finder cover the whole picture as you see it in the viewfinder? Will it
also include any metering information that is visible in the viewfinder,
but outside the actual picture? I'm sure you won't be able to do any
usable focusing with that.
I'm on the lookout for a waist-level viewfinder camera for a while
already, and since the LX is outside of my budget, I was considering an
old Pentax or Praktika SLR-camera that didn't have the prism yet... (a
little OT here, but any of you having experience with that?). Most of my
lenses are M42, so that shouldn't be a problem. Lack of light meter
though...
I browsed the site and wonder if there wouldn't be a market for a
similar digital viewfinder to be mounted on the flash shoe. That would
be mainly useful for rangefinder camera's with interchangeable lenses,
so the digital viewfinder could then also be set with the proper focus
length... maybe too complicated technically, but for this purpose, you
really only need it to compose the image, there's typically little
metering or other information in rangefinder viewfinders...
