Hi, I've been reading this thread off and on, and while, for the most part, the debate and the technical stuff doesn't interest me too much, it makes for an enjoyable read.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the new sensor that Sony is using in their recently announced (released?) DRC-R1. It's a 14mm X 21mm, 10mp CMOS sensor, and it seems (to me, that is) that the size is a good compromise between cost, size, and pixel count. The camera has a retail price of $1,000.00 which means that the sensor can't be ~that~ expensive, and since Pentax has been using Sony sensors, it may well be that, at some point, they may be using this one as well. Any thoughts on this? Shel "Am I paranoid or perceptive?" > [Original Message] > From: Toralf Lund > Maybe, maybe not. We'll see.
