No. There's a vertical grip for the *ist-D but it's not similar.

I keep a Winder ME-II attached to my SuperProgram as a handgrip when I
have the 35-105 mounted. It's a lot easier to manage the weight that
way.
Is there a similar grip for the istD?

Thanks Pancho, I think you may be right.

Don,
I own this lens and I have made some pictures I like very much, it gives
very nice results. You're not going to find a constant aperture lens in
that zoom range. I don't know about any good replacement, as I wouldn't
sell mine but would only another lens additionally.
I think you're gonna get less profit out of selling it than using it.
It's got the A contacts, it should work nicely on the D.
Just my 2c,

I'd really like to replace my A35-105/3.5 with something
smaller and lighter, maybe even AF.
So I go take a couple of sample pics with the D to show
on eekBay.
Then I can make the big bucks!
Problem is that the sample pics are so good I change
my mind again.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement for
this very large, heavy, positively _gorgeous_ lens?
Here's a sampe full frame and 100% crop:

ist-D at 1/125th and 105mm at f:5.6, ISO 400.
