The LaCie/Titanium Toast combo does a verify unless i tell it not to. I'm estimating the ten minutes. I'll check the exact timing next time I burn a DVD.

I've been archiving with the new LaCie 16X DVD burner. With Titanium Toast 6, it can pack 4.7 gigs onto a DVD in about ten minutes. For right around $250, that
burner was one of the best investments I've ever made.

It takes my 8x Sony burner ~15 mins to open burn and close a full DVD-R disc session at 100% speed so I assume that your system, doesn't execute a verify after write? My process takes about 45 mins due to the verification and post
disc write thumb-nailing I execute for my off-line library.
