M42 and K-bayonet have the same register, and very similar to Nikon bayonet. That's why there are no adapters I know of that will allow infinity focus.

That's what I thought. I was just wondering if there was *something* about M42 I'd missed...

Cheaply made? I have two reverse ring adapters: the genuine pentax one is far shorter than the no-name, giving less magnification, but more options...

It's hard to tell exactly how cheaply, since it's such a simple unit in any case - if you know what I mean. But I'm wandering if it may be a case of a different adapter for M42 with something removed, and an F-mount stuck onto it...
