List wisdom needed:
I have been asked by a local craftsman/jeweler to take some
photos of an upcoming item he is designing. This item will have
some diamonds in it.
Has anyone on the list done any product shoots of jewelry items?
Any recommendation on the type of lighting and film to use? He will
definitely want some prints, and may need something for a catalog later.
I have access to a few flashes (AF400T and AF280T), and also
some tungsten and/or halogen light sources (but nothing professional)
Since the piece will be reasonably large, he (the artist) wants to use
the halogen spot to put some sparkles in the diamonds, so I am already
dealing with maybe two kind of light.
And I can use an LX for the off-the-film metering.
Any pointers appreciated.
Thanks
Michel
