I'm only posting this because I know others on the list have Canon as well as Pentax gear. I, in fact, have two of the affected models (a P&S and a camcorder). Apparently, the CCDs can become "unwired" in hot or humid conditions. Looks like Canon will repair the cameras regardless of warranty status and cover the cost of shipping. Cool! Tim
