Ah, I see. The M-A-F 28/2.8 share the same optics, the FA is a new design. I have an A28/2.8 ... It's not super sharp wide open, but sharpens up beautifully at f/4-5.6. I don't know that I would call it a poor performer: it does have beautiful OOF rendering, as well as great sharpness stopped down a little bit.

This was the first of the older lenses I bought for the DS and these are some of the very first photos I made with the camera. They're what convinced me that Pentax was worth my while to get involved with... :-)
